iTUB has the goal set for becoming a net zero company

January 5, 2022

With the aim of offering a climate neutral service to our clients, we at iTUB have calculated our Corporate Carbon Footprint and Product Carbon Footprint with FORLIANCE, a German based consultancy on solutions for climate protection and sustainable corporate actions.

The Corporate Carbon Footprint includes, at a minimum, scope 1 and 2 emissions of our business operations according to the GHG protocol standard, including some level of scope 3 emissions. This includes for example business travel with non-company owned vehicles as well as employee commuting. This leads to the accounting of direct and indirect CO2e emissions.

While we are still on track on calculating the full impact of the Product Carbon Footprint within our downstream Scope 3 activities from our services, we have our plans set for reducing emissions wherever possible and what cannot be reduced will be compensated for.

As a first step, in order to offset our emissions on the corporate level, we have invested in carbon credits originating from the Gold Standard certified Nicaforest High Impact Reforestation Program in Nicaragua.

Nicaforest offers a high level of co-benefits related to environmental and social impact in Nicaragua in addition to the certified carbon credits, thus a preferred choice for iTUB.

The goal is for iTUB to become a net zero company and with these first steps, we are on track to reach the desired level of sustainability.

We are serious about our commitment towards sustainability!
